On its face, a Patina Leather jacket from JKT-NYC is an antique gem, looking as if it had been well worn and passed from one generation to the next. And in fact, that’s not far from reality; except that the grain is worn by nature long before, and after, it’s worn by us. Sun, rain, salt, natural oils — all add shading, luster, and suppleness that no man-made process could match. Of course, once the patina has begun developing in nature (like antique metals exposed to the elements), we step in and lend a hand, with proprietary washing, tanning, waxing, and other finishing processes that move the oxidation process along. Putting our own mark on time-honored techniques (more than 20 years old, in fact) we create a well-loved, broken-in look and feel, as stunning as it is soft to the touch, supple, and the only one of its kind.
